Biography
Originally from Savannah, Georgia, Alexandra Thompson, soprano, holds a B.M. in vocal performance from Kennesaw State University where she performed Gretel in Engelbert Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel and Susanna in W.A. Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro. Thompson was active with the KSU Chamber Singers during her undergraduate degree.
During 2021-2023, Thompson was a frequent soloist with the Atlanta Boy Choir under the direction of Robert Henry. Through her connection with the Atlanta Boy Choir, Thompson performed at three Christmas tree lighting ceremonies at the Georgia Capitol, several holiday concerts, and two southeastern tours.
Thompson also holds a M.M. in vocal performance from the University of Tennessee Knoxville. During her time at the University of Tennessee Knoxville, Thompson performed Elisetta in Il matrimonio segreto (Domenico Cimarosa), Sœur Constance in Dialogues des Carmélites (Francis Poulenc), Fanny in La cambiale di matrimonio (Gioachino Rossini), and the Rooster in The Cunning Little Vixen (Leoš Janáček).
Thompson is a current singer in the Knoxville Opera Studio (Knoxville, TN) where she has performed in the chorus for Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Pirates of Penzance (Oct 2024) and Giacomo Puccini’s La bohème (Feb 2025).
In summer 2026, Thompson was a Developing Singer at the Hawaii Performing Arts Festival where she returned to the role of Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro (Mozart). Thompson also attended the Dramatic Voices Program Berlin in summer 2026 where she performed the role of Naiad in Richard Strauss’ Ariadne aufNaxos and was a soloist in their Lieder program.
